travel europe italy liguria the cinque terre manarola around the town
Like most of the villages along the Cinque Terre, Corniglia being the main exception, Manarola is built in a valley that runs down to the sea.
Similar to the other villages, the main attraction is the waterfront area.
Like Riomaggiore and Vernazza, the train station is located in an adjacent valley and you need to walk through a tunnel complex to get to the main part of town.
Similar to the other villages, the main street of town runs up and down the base of the valley while homes and shops built along the sides create their own canyon.
Above the platform created by the train tunnel, the main street is Via Antonio Discovolol and below the platform it is called Via Renato Birolli.
